Closing the deal & ownership transfer
What happens after you agree with a buyer — paying the SAR 500 success commission and transferring the car to the buyer's Garage.
Congratulations — you have a deal. Whether it came from an auction win or a fixed-price listing, closing it on Karaji takes two short steps: the seller pays the platform's success commission, then transfers the car to the buyer's Garage. This guide walks you through both.
The success commission
Karaji charges exactly one fee, and only when a deal actually happens:
- Only the seller pays. Buyers pay nothing to the platform — ever.
- The amount is fixed: SAR 500, no matter how expensive the car is.
- VAT 15% is already included in that amount.
Your receipt breaks the payment down like this:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Karaji fee | SAR 434.78 |
| VAT (15%) | SAR 65.22 |
| Total | SAR 500 |
You agreed to this commission when you created the listing — whether at a fixed price or at auction — so there are no surprises at this stage.
Paying in the app
You pay the commission directly in the app via Stripe. The payment is designed to be safe:
- The amount is enforced by the server. The app cannot charge you anything other than SAR 500.
- No double charge. If the payment succeeded but the confirmation didn't reach your phone — say, the app closed or the connection dropped — tapping pay again will not charge you a second time. Retrying only re-confirms the payment that already went through.
So if anything looks stuck, simply retry. You will never pay the commission twice for the same deal.
Transferring the car to the new owner
Once the commission is paid, the transfer step unlocks. Here's what the seller does:
- Ask the buyer for their Garage ID. It's a numeric ID every user has; the buyer can find it in Settings — see Your account.
- Enter the buyer's Garage ID in the transfer screen.
- For fixed-price deals, also enter the final price you agreed on.
- Swipe "Transfer to new owner".
That's it. The car moves to the buyer's Garage together with its full history — including the Logbook. The new owner receives everything that belongs to the car, not just the listing.
Don't skip the transfer
The transfer is not automatic. Paying the commission does not move the car by itself.
Important: if the seller never completes the transfer, the car will never appear in the buyer's Garage. Always finish the swipe — it's the step that actually hands the car over.
Quick recap
- Seller pays a single fixed fee of SAR 500 (VAT included) via Stripe, in-app.
- Buyers pay nothing.
- Retrying a payment is always safe — no double charges.
- Transfer = buyer's Garage ID (+ final price for fixed-price deals) + swipe.
- The car moves with its complete history, Logbook included.
